Test Drive Unlimited 2

Been there. This is mainly a connection issue. Due to the servers going west on early November 2018, everyone will receive this.

Just select the ‘Cancel’ button when it asks to download files. Then, when available, select ‘Play’ on the bottom of the program, and it’ll ask if you want to play online. Again, because the servers are no more, you’ll just have to select ‘Yes’, to play.

If the stars are properly aligned, the game (TestDrive2.exe) should run. If not, please, let me know.

Now, to make this whole process shorter, you can disable internet access to UpLauncher. Steps below:

1) Open Control Panel.
2) If it isn’t already, ensure that ‘Large Icons’ is selected in the top right.
3) Select ‘Windows Firewall’.
4) On the sidebar on the left, select ‘Advanced Settings’.
5) Select ‘Outbound Rules’.
6) Look on the right sidebar. Select ‘New Rule.’
7) In the prompt, select ‘Program’.
8) You should see a ‘Browse’ button in the box. Enter the file path for the game. Usually, it is in X. /Steam/steamapps/common/Test Drive Unlimited 2. You’ll want to select the ‘TestDrive2.exe’ file.
9) Select ‘Next.’
10) Select all three checkmarks.
11) Give your rule a catchy name and description.
12) If necessary, save any changes, and close.

for 1 i have «this error , is rare, it is caused by a cluttered registry from either pasting obtained tdu2 files into Steam games folder or installing side by side with already installed retail version or from a previous bad install,
clean registry up, or install the tdu2 on a different pc.

«We’ve had this pop up recently and the Development Team is working to address it. In the mean time, if you get this error while in the Up Launcher please do the following.

1. Go to the game directory.

2. Delete the file name «UpLauncher.localdb» (not the same as «UpLauncher.exe»)

3. Run TestDrive2.exe and click «OK» when the error comes up.

4. Now run UpLauncher.exe.

This will download or repair the files and run under the currently installed patch version. Unless you have this latest patch version installed, online mode will not be possible.

For Steam Users:

5. You may get the Error 5 again. Simply try relaunching the game through Steam and it should work.»
ends.

I don’t know what type of error it is, but the game won’t launch after pressing PLAY. The launcher stays open. Steam tells me that I’m running the game even though I am not. I have TDU2 DLC2 v034 build16, 2012091.0831 if that helps. Please let me know if there’s a way to fix it. You’re most certainly welcome. Happy to help a fellow TDU2 player. 26 июл. 2019 в 15:09 I also have a similar issue. The reason that Steam says that it’s running is because the UpLauncher is running. Steam doesn’t know the difference between the launcher and the game itself.

There’s a few things that may help.

— Wait up to a minute. It could be simply taking a while.
— Try launching the TestDrive2.exe file from File Explorer or Search. You should receive an error message saying that it needs to be launched from the UpLauncher. Run the game through Steam again.
— Check your AV (antivirus). It may not be allowing TDU2 to run.
— Don’t reinstall Windows. That’ll do more harm than good.

— Run both UpLauncher.exe and TestDrive2.exe in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. You can do this by:
1) Going to the files from File Explorer.
2) Right click on one of them.
3) Select “Properties.”
4) Go to the Compatibility tab.
5) Select “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
6) Choose Windows 7.
7) Select “OK” to confirm.
8) For the other one, repeat steps 1 to 7.
Why Windows 7? Because the game was released in 2011, Windows 7 was the latest version of Windows, so that might do the trick.

I’ve never had this problem, so I’m not guaranteeing that this will work, they’re just theories. Hope that helps.

Question

Hi. I got this error from a sql agent driven cube process yesterday and am wondering where the log of errors is created.

Executed as user: x\servername$. http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/xmla-multipleresults»> .
The step failed.

if its a property I can see related to the server in ssms, which property as I see lots of stuff with the word log in the property name.

Ignoring the errors is not really a solution. This is not entirely easy to find, but these errors are logged to where ever you configure them to go. If you have not setup a log file then I think they only get output to the trace.

You can configure a log file location by changing the batch settings and going into the dimensions key errors and configuring the log file path.

This will produce XMLA like the following and will send key errors to the specified file

D:\temp\processing_errors.log

As it is executed from SQL agen job then you can consider sysjobhistory for error messages. you can view it by using below code

Note:

Status of the job execution:

= Failed

1 = Succeeded

2 = Retry

3 = Canceled

You can also view error details from different type of SSAS logs .

Hope this will help.

Glad to help! Please remember to accept the answer if you found it helpful. It will be useful for future readers having same issue.

thx for trying Anuj but there are two problems.

The original error I posted comes from job history so the query u posted wouldn’t help in this situation and .

the link u provided isn’t clear as to which server property name to associate with the various files it discusses.

I took a chance on msmdsrv.txt in the dir specified as server property «LogDir» and it didn’t even have a reference to this problem.

In the same dir I looked at sqldumper_errorlog and it didn’t contain anything useful either.

Finally I went poking around for a flat file or table named OlapQueryLog which is listed in the Value column next to property «Log \QueryLog\QueryLogTableName» to but I couldn’t find such an object.

Try launching SQL Server Configuration Manager, then right click the Analysis Services, click properties then click the advanced tab; there should be a Dump Directory specified.

Please click «Mark As Answer» if my post helped. Tony C.

ok, the directory there matches the one I already looked in. See post 3.

Is the fact that it says no next to «error reporting» a bad sign?

Otherwise, what file am I interested in? post #3 lists 2 files I already looked at.

According to your description, you are expreiencing a error when processing a SQL Server Analysis Services cube by using agent job, now you need to get the detail error message to troubleshoot the error, right?

you can troubleshoot this issue by using the Windows Event logs and msmdsrv.log.

  • You can access Windows Event logs via «Administrative Tools» —> «Event Viewer». SSAS error messages will appear in the application log.
  • The msmdsrv.log file for the SSAS instance that can be found in \log folder of the instance. (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS10.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Log)

Anuj Tripathi provide a perfect blog about Data collection for troubleshooting Analysis Services issues, have you tried the method on that blog?
